Change of CEO at crane manufacturer HMF
HMF, one of the world's leading crane manufacturers, is getting a new CEO. It is the company's COO, Mikkel Winther Andersen, who takes over the baton from Jens Seehusen Christensen. With core competencies in production efficiency at for example Grundfos, Mikkel and the rest of the company's Management Team will ensure the continued successful development of HMF.
From one giant to the other
Mikkel Winther Andersen takes over the new position with a wide range of educational and practical experience. The new CEO is educated as Agricultural Mechanic, Operation and Mechanical Engineer, and he also has an Executive MBA from Aalborg University. Over the course of 15 years, he has headed various areas of responsibility at the Danish pump giant, Grundfos, including directing three factories in Bjerringbro, Aalestrup and Odense respectively.
Since he took up the post at COO at HMF in January 2021, he has demonstrated excellent results - both in terms of business and management. Therefore, Chairman of the Board, Kim Buchwald, has no doubt that Mikkel Winther is the right man to lead HMF in the future.
Chairman Kim Buchwald states:
“In the Board we have a strong desire to future-proof HMF by, among other things, creating a more efficient, automated, and scalable production. As this is a key element of our growth strategy, we have chosen a profile with core competencies in this particular area. Mikkel brings with him a wealth of professional and managerial experience, and I look forward to working with him – now at the head of HMF."
Kim Buchwald adds; "With this change, CEO Mikkel Winther Andersen and CFO Klaus Skov Mortensen now form the HMF Executive Team and will, in close cooperation with the rest of the Management and the entire organization, ensure the continued successful development of HMF.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Jens Seehusen Christensen for his strong efforts, and we wish him all the best in the future."
CEO Mikkel Winther Andersen on his new role:
"I am honoured to have this opportunity and look very much forward to continuing the vision that we at HMF have been working towards over the past year. Having had my 'hands inside the engine room' so to speak in my previous role at HMF, I feel well equipped for the new role.
HMF is a strong and solid company that in recent years has really shown what we can achieve when we perform at our best," says Mikkel Winther, referring to the year 2021, when the company set turnover record.
"The status today is that we are in an uncertain world situation, and therefore we must continue to tread carefully and make reasonable decisions so that we can ensure a continued growth journey for HMF."
Mikkel Winther Andersen took over as CEO on 20 June 2022.
