Crane Manufacturer HMF’s Owner, the Bundgaard Foundation, donates DKK 6.6 Million in Cardiology Equipment

Aarhus University Hospital (AUH) is set to enhance its cardiology treatments with a donation of DKK 6.6 million from the Bundgaard Foundation, stemming from HMF Group’s 2023 annual report. This funding will support the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment for the Cardiology Department, aimed at improving patient care and safety.

The cornerstone of this donation is an innovative X-ray system and ECHO device. This new equipment integrates cutting-edge technology, enabling advanced imaging capabilities for treating adult patients with various cardiovascular conditions. Notably, the system allows for the integration of images and 3D models from both live and previous examinations, providing physicians with comprehensive insights to tailor treatments effectively.

Chief Physician for heart diseases, Christian Gerdes, emphasizes the impact of this integration, stating: "The ability to view images from previous scans alongside live procedures enhances treatment precision, resulting in safer and more personalized interventions for patients. At AUH, we are extremely grateful and delighted by the Bundgaard Foundation's generous donation, which makes these new opportunities possible.”

Furthermore, the advanced equipment significantly reduces X-ray radiation exposure for both healthcare professionals and patients. This enhancement not only prioritizes the safety and well-being of staff but also enhances the overall patient experience by minimizing radiation exposure and procedure duration.

Jens Jørgen Madsen, Chairman of the Bundgaard Foundation, expresses gratitude for the opportunity to make a tangible difference in cardiovascular care: "We are pleased that the Bundgaard Foundation is once again contributing with a donation that makes a tangible difference for patients suffering from serious cardiovascular diseases. We have therefore chosen to support this new X-ray system, which contributes to better treatment and greater safety for both staff and patients. Not least, it is interesting that the equipment can also be used to train cardiologists in other parts of the world, so the help also extends beyond the hospital walls. Furthermore, the X-ray system helps AUH maintain its position among the absolute international elite in the treatment of cardiovascular disease.”

The Bundgaard Foundation's contribution is based on its charitable purpose, which is to help vulnerable citizens in the local community in the form of not readily available hospital equipment. CEO of HMF Group, Mikkel Winther Andersen says: “We are incredibly proud to be part of a company where the ownership continuously invests in improving healthcare. This donation is a testament to our commitment to making a positive difference in our community."
