The First Customer on the HMF Webshop: Crane and Truck Enthusiast Bent Jensen
28/04/2025 00:00:00Bent Jensen is 53 years old and lives in a shared residence just outside of Aarhus, Denmark with eight other residents. It’s a home built on community and structure, and Bent thrives in his daily life with its steady routines and close-knit environment. He lives with a disability, but that’s certainly not what defines him.
Bent is a busy and dedicated man. He loves his job in the kitchen at a nearby Activity Center, and it’s no easy task getting him to take a day off. When he does relax, he often spends his time on YouTube, where videos of trucks and cranes can capture his attention for hours.
He has been fascinated by large vehicles for as long as he can remember, and throughout his adult life, his interest in HMF truck-mounted cranes has only grown. Many years ago, he noticed a large truck with a crane collecting grain in a neighboring town – and that image stuck with him. Today, he notices cranes of all sizes, and he can immediately spot an HMF crane when he sees one – perhaps because he’s well-trained by all the HMF cranes that pass by his neighborhood. After all, Bent lives just a stone’s throw from HMF’s Customer Experience Center, where many large cranes are constantly on the move.
Although Bent has never worked with cranes or trucks himself, the hobby plays a big role in his life and brings him daily joy. From time to time, he imagines what it would be like to run his own haulage business and own a truck with a crane. Of course, both truck and crane would be red and black – “the coolest color combination,” he says with a twinkle in his eye. He dreams of driving around Galten, honking and waving to people.
When HMF launched a webshop for private customers, Bent placed the very first order. He knew exactly what he wanted: a bag, a t-shirt, and a cap. The selection was large, but for Bent the choice was easy – and the excitement was high when his order arrived.

When we visited Bent in Galten, he proudly showed us his HMF backpack, already in use. He pointed to the large posters on his walls, featuring tractors and trucks, and in his bedroom, even the bed is dressed in truck-themed bedding. Bent himself wore a t-shirt that read “Real men drive Scania,” and he proudly showed off his new tattoo: a red truck on his upper arm.
In addition to his passion for cranes and trucks, Bent has two other great loves: the Pokémon character Pikachu and the holiday destination Greece. It’s easy to spot in his cozy home, where shelves and cabinets are filled with Pikachu figures, and a garland of Greek flags decorates the living room. Bent loves Greece and has already planned his next trip to Crete this summer – and chances are high that his HMF merchandise – the cap, the t-shirt, and the backpack – will join him on the adventure. He may also be lucky to spot a Danish crane in Greece, because HMF is fortunately also located in these latitudes.
For us at HMF, it means something truly special that it was Bent who placed the very first order. After all, who could be a better first customer than someone who carries such genuine enthusiasm for our cranes – and for HMF – in his heart?
